Internally and with our clients, Creative Group strives to produce green meetings that accomplish the event objectives with minimal environmental impact. In many cases, going green also means saving our clients money. Here are just a few of the ways we plan greener meetings:

Prepare an environmental statement or policy
The event's statement is shared with management, suppliers, delegates, presenters, and exhibitors. It may include decreasing the amount of solid waste; reducing energy and water consumption; minimizing harmful emissions from transportation and energy consumption; disposing of solid and liquid waste in an environmentally responsible manner; using new electronic technology to cut down paper use; and eliminating the use of harmful chemicals at or for the event.

Follow through on-site
• Have the hotel dedicate a TV channel to conference information and updates.
• Ask presenters to minimize paper hand-outs.
• Have the hotel and venue provide visible and accessible reduction, reuse and recycling services for paper, metal, plastic and glass.
• Ensure food and beverage packaging is recyclable, and that it will be recycled.
• Give participants reusable coffee mugs at the start of the conference and ask the hotel to use reusable cutlery, dishware and linens.
• Ask the food supplier to buy local, seasonal produce to avoid costly transportation.
• Arrange to have leftover food donated to a local food bank or soup kitchen.
• Ask if unusable leftover food portions can be composted or shipped to a local farm as pig feed.
